UKATA Asbestos Non-Licensed Operative Refresher (B3)

Our UKATA asbestos removal refresher training usually lasts one day (six hours), but the actual duration of the refresher training will be determined by our instructors after carrying out a training needs analysis.

Weekday courses commence at 8.30am and weekend courses 7.30am unless communicated otherwise.

Our UKATA non-licensed asbestos removal refresher training courses are all delivered at our training centre in Maidstone, Kent.

If you require a remote-learning option, we offer an online refresher course. To ensure candidates have the best experience when carrying out this e-refresher, they must have:

• Access to a desktop or laptop computer with a webcam capable of running Zoom
• A good internet connection – high speed broadband is highly recommended
• A study space with minimal disruptions
• A working microphone, either in their computer or headset.

According to the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, every employer must ensure that adequate information, instruction and training is given to employees who are, or who may be, exposed to asbestos. It is also required for anyone who may supervise such employees.

This course is intended for anyone who has undergone initial UKATA non-licensed asbestos removal training (B2) within the last 12 months. Candidates will be required to provide evidence of their previous training certification.

We also offer refresher courses for asbestos removal operatives, managers and supervisors.

As an UKATA-approved training centre, we deliver the most up-to-date courses to you or your workforce. Delegates will learn about:

• What works are classified as non-licensed
• The use of PPE
• The control measures required to undertake non-licensed work with asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) safely
• Drilling holes through AIB and textured coating
• Removal of small AIB panels
• Removal of asbestos cement-based products
• Removal of asbestos-containing articles such as floor tiles, gaskets etc
• The requirements to prevent the spread of asbestos
• Controlling exposure and air monitoring when working with non-licensed asbestos-containing materials
• Dealing with waste from non-licensed asbestos-containing materials
• Decontamination procedures after working with non-licensed asbestos-containing materials
• Record keeping

UKATA Non-Licensable Work with Asbestos B3 assessment.

After passing the UKATA Non-Licensable Work with Asbestos B3 assessment, candidates will receive a certificate allowing them to work safely with non-licensed asbestos-containing materials for 12 months from date of issue.

The UKATA Non-licensed Asbestos Removal Refresher (B3) is renewable every 12 months. To ensure you and your team are qualified and safe to work with non-licensed asbestos-containing materials, a further refresher course should be completed within a year.
